Basel, the third most populous city of Switzerland, is situated on the northwestern part of Switzerland. This city is primarily known for its pharmeceutical industry and the chemical industry, however apart from the industries the other sites that have drawn the attention of the tourists or have made this second largest city popular are the museum that displays articles that were once an integral part of Berne as well as of the nation of Switzerland and the tourist sites of this city makes this place worth a visit atleast once in a lifetime.
Basel is served by the Euro Airport Basel Mulhouse– Freiberg and this airport is jointly owned by Switzerland and France . Though this airport is situated on the border of France , on the basis of an agreement that took place in the year 1946 France and Switzerland are granted duty free access to the airport. This airport has been divided into two halves and one half serves the residents of France while the other half serves the residents of Switzerland .
